In the Design Studio with the Weave Designers

As we welcome the cooler months, Weave’s Autumn Winter 2025 collection invites us to embrace warmth, texture, and timeless style. With a thoughtfully curated selection of rugs, cushions, and throws, this range is designed to bring comfort and sophistication to any space.

Behind this collection are Weave’s talented designers, Kendelle and Teresa—creative forces whose expertise and vision shape each season. With years of experience in textile design, they bring a deep understanding of materials, colour, and evolving trends, ensuring every piece resonates with modern interiors.

About the Designers

Can you tell us a little about your background and what led you to a career in textile design?

Teresa: I began my career in graphic design and print publications, but after extensive travels, I felt a strong pull toward textiles, which inspired me to continue my studies in that direction. A brief period in the automotive industry followed before I found my niche in rug and carpet design, where I specialised in both design and product development. It was during this time that my passion for interiors truly came to life. I'm now excited to take that passion further by expanding my product offering to include a broader range of homewares and beyond.

Kendelle: My love for pattern, texture and colour is what led me to a career in Textile Design. I spent my early 20’s travelling to different countries, collecting beautiful textiles along with the unique stories attached to them. This is what led me to study a bachelor of Textile Design, where I spent 6 months of my studies living in India learning from a number of different artisans and craft communities. One of the biggest things I took away from this experience was developing a real appreciation for the beauty of imperfection in something that is handcrafted. For me, Weave really captures the things I hold so closely about Textile Design, which can be hard to find within a fast paced commercial Textiles industry.

Are there any designers, artists, or movements that have influenced your work or inspires you?

Teresa:  I am loving the wave of female multidisciplinary designers such as Patricia Urquiola and Sabine Marcelis who don’t confine themselves to one form of design, but cross into other design products, allowing for more explorative and playful outcomes.

Kendelle: I source a lot of my inspiration from vintage textiles, homewares & furniture pieces. I love to spend my time fossicking through flea markets, antique stores, vintage shops and little thrift stores in unexpected places. I think it’s really important to be trend driven but to also have an understanding of the history that influences the trends that we see coming through. This really helps to ensure that we have our own individual take on what we see filtering through.

Some of my favourite pages to follow for inspiration in this space are Bettencourt Manor & Eesome. Some additional pages I love to follow for their storytelling and connection to unique pieces and objects are Les Collection , The Oblist  and & Objet LA/NYOne of my all time favourite flea markets to visit if I find myself in that part of the world is Les Puces De Leon in France - you could spend days getting lost here.

About Autumn Winter 2025 Collection

Can you describe a typical day in the Weave design studio when working on a new collection? How does your creative process unfold when designing a new range?

Teresa and Kendelle: One of the best things about working in a design studio is that no two days are the same—it keeps things exciting and always keeps you on your toes. We’re constantly balancing the final touches on a collection about to launch while simultaneously developing new concepts for photoshoots and collaborating closely with the marketing team to bring products to market.

Exploring fresh ideas is essential, and staying ahead of trends is a key part of our process. We immerse ourselves in trend forecasting, draw inspiration from interior designers, architecture, art exhibitions, and the world around us to keep our work innovative and relevant.

What is the inspiration behind the Autumn Winter 2025 range?

For this collection, we’ve focused on offering a wide range of rugs that introduce rich textures into interior spaces. Our goal was to create pieces that seamlessly layer with other textures, bringing an understated sense of sophistication to any setting.

Our cushion range features tonal palettes designed to complement the rug selections, creating a harmonious connection between colours and textures that elevate the overall interior space.

What materials or textures play a key role in the new Autumn Winter collection?

The new rug collection is centred around a diverse range of textures, designed to suit various spaces and needs while maintaining an understated, sophisticated aesthetic. The sleek linen rug Emilio offers a refined, simple look that effortlessly coordinates with different interiors. The Alessandre is a versatile go-to rug, featuring a cut-and-loop pile that adds subtle interest while complementing surrounding interior elements. In contrast, the Bastian makes a bold statement—its strong jute texture in a cut-and-loop pile brings depth and character to a space without overwhelming it.

For our cushions, we’ve blended texture and pattern to create a dynamic yet harmonious range. The Laurent cushion, available in 12 rich tonal colours, exudes luxury with its chunky chenille texture. In contrast, the Sienne cushion plays with pattern scale, featuring an oversized woven check design. Its fine ribbed and sparse boucle textures add visual interest in a subtle, contemporary way, offering a fresh take on the classic check pattern with each individual cushion having a unique placement of the design.

Can you share any standout products or colour trends from the Autumn Winder collection? What are your favourite pieces?

We love the Marceau texture—it adds depth to interiors while creating a warm, inviting space in a sophisticated way. The Bastian brings a touch of fashion-forward glamour with its unique texture. Additionally, the Laurent cushion, with its matte chenille finish, introduces subtle interest without being overpowering, maintaining a timeless elegance.

The Nevis throw in the Ash colourway is a versatile staple, crafted in Denmark from luxuriously soft New Zealand lambswool with a beautiful marled finish. We hope people view the Autumn Winter collection as a way to add to their current interior palettes and build upon them.

What upcoming trends in home textiles are you excited about?

We love the idea of self-expression in interiors—breaking away from rigid styles and embracing a more personal approach. It’s about blurring the lines to create a space that truly reflects you. This season’s colour palettes celebrate the return of rich green tones, warm umbers, and soft, inviting neutrals. For contrast, deep maroons pair beautifully with soft blue hues, adding depth and intrigue.

What’s one textile trend you think will stand the test of time?

Investing in high-quality fibres—like linen cushions and bedding, wool rugs, and lambswool throws—creates a timeless foundation that stands the test of time. A well-chosen base of neutral tones provides versatility, allowing you to easily incorporate trend-driven pieces that can be swapped out as styles evolve. With a strong quality core, your space remains fresh and adaptable for years to come.

What’s next for you—any exciting projects or ideas on the horizon?

Our next steps focus on expanding our core range to provide customers with a strong foundation to build upon. We're refreshing our colourways and exploring more bedding options, including an expanded selection of 100% French linen bedding. Additionally we are excited to explore some new rugs and cushions offerings, with a wider range of layering options to enhance interior spaces.
