Escapism and modern Caribbean interiors

Escapism and modern Caribbean interiors

It’s no surprise trend forecasters are predicting that interior design trends inspired by holiday destinations to faraway places will run into 2022.

The Escapism trend is all about boosting our moods and a yearning for freedom of movement. Forecasters also predict that it is also time for a change – to switch from the predominance of Scandinavian design, towards warmer, more southern areas of influence.

Weave’s Martinique collection echoes a modern Caribbean aesthetic that can be translated into spaces that bring the outdoors in, as well as lots of natural light, natural materials and fabrics, and a big use of terracotta, ceramics and tiles. Martinique is just that — alive with colour and brimming with pattern and texture.

From bold patterns that transport you to the hustle and bustle of beachside markets, to linen cabana stripes reminiscent of sitting by the poolside, enveloped by swaying palms in warm tropical breezes. Our hero print Guadeloupe is our own interpretation of the palm print trend and bringing outdoor landscapes indoors.

Martinique bedroom setting
The warm Martinique colour palette works well in bedroom settings.

This year, we see an increased desire for homeware that incorporates traditional artisan design details and handcrafted techniques. These techniques channel our desire for authenticity, a slower pace and nomadic memories as we look forward to future adventures.

Tactile finishes of embroidery on linen and cotton velvet, as well as raw yet refined materials of linen, mirror the tactility expected from such artisanal markings. Tropez, Sorrento, Martinique and Byblos cushions are great examples of this in this collection.

Martinique in minimalist interior
Martinique is suited to both eclectic and more minimal interior styles.

Martinique is designed to encourage slow living in spaces that bring joy. Its warm tones of Olive, Spice and Blush remind us not to shy away from colour, and that when used in harmony, provide distinctive sophistication.

Colour will enrich your space and boost your mood. This warm, earthy palette sits beautifully alongside minimalist and eclectic interiors. Strong colour pairings such as Olive and Spice embrace links to nature.

The new Vito cushion complements linen bedding.

This spring, Weave welcome Vito  a striped version of European linen plain Como. Vito is a yarn-dyed stripe, woven in the same linen yarn quality as Como.

The Vito colour range is designed to pair back with our Como range. Vito will relax the look when paired with sophisticated Tropez and Byblos embroideries. Vito is also a great option for bedroom styling, pairing well with linen bedding or with much anticipated Como colourway, Snow.
